Notice: As of January 1, 2018, the 9th edition of 780 CMR (MA state building code) will be in full effect. The 9th edition consists of the 2015 international I-codes with MA amendments. View where you can purchase the new 9th edition.

Commercial Sprinkler & Alarm Permits

Commercial Sprinkler & Alarm permits are now issued by the Building Department. 2 sets of plans are required if plans are submitted.
Residential fire alarm permits are still issued by the Fire Department.

CSL holder must also hold the HIC registration for residential 1 & 2 family remodel.

Due to the increased volume of inspection requests, please schedule 24 to 48 hours ahead with a staff member. No voice mail requests. Inspections scheduled for the following day are posted on the Town Website at 5:00 p.m. the business day before.
Please provide the Permit Number and address of work site when scheduling an inspection.

All notices to abutters regarding a structure demolition must be by certified mail. Return receipt required.
