Low-Vision Support Group
The Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired offers a monthly low vision support group at the Center at the Heights. The group provides practical and emotional support to individuals coping with serious sight loss. The group provides the opportunity for participants to share fears, frustrations, coping mechanisms, and resources as their vision changes. There are additional support groups located in communities throughout Massachusetts. Many are led by visually impaired peer coordinators. For more information call 781-455-7555.
Group Goal
The goal of the Low Vision Support Group is to provide an opportunity for newly blind as well as visually impaired persons to come together to discuss issues relating to their vision loss, and to focus on topics such as: aging and vision loss, how to maintain independence, specialized equipment to use in the home or on the job and the effects of vision loss on family and friends
