Meetings are generally held once a month and then may be held more frequently in late fall. The meetings are held in Town Hall, 1471 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA 02492.

Members

This committee can have up to fifteen appointed members. Appointments are made by the Board of Selectmen. There are currently multiple vacancies. To apply, complete an online application.

General Purpose

The charge of the New Year's Needham Committee is to plan, execute and oversee the operational logistics of New Years Needham. In this regard, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Compiling a list of potential venues
  • Developing program schedules
  • Drafting annual reports
  • Establishing a list of desired performers
  • Identifying sources of funding, recruiting, and managing volunteers
  • Interviewing, screening, and contracting with performers
  • Promoting the event
  • Supervising venues on NYN
