The committee's five members are appointed by the Select Board, the Planning Board, and the town moderator.
Purpose & Responsibilities
The Needham Transportation Committee was established by the Town of Needham (by-laws Section 2.7.1) and has been charged with the responsibility for "continuing studies of the mass transportation needs of the town, with particular emphasis upon commuter transportation".
In addition to responding to requests from the Select Board, the Needham Transportation Committee meets regularly to provide an opportunity for members of the community to bring their concerns before the committee, and it has helped the Select Board take the town's concerns to the MBTA as needed.
