The Needham Department of Health and Human Services is launching a town-wide survey of Needham residents who are 60 years and older. The purpose is to understand the issues faced by older adults so that Town departments and community-based organizations can provide programs and services that are tailored to best serve residents. The survey is one-part of a larger project that will include focus groups and individual interviews.
The Town conducted a similar assessment in 2016 which was largely focused on transportation and housing needs. Besides helping to shape services, the 2016 assessment helped pave a path to passing a zoning bylaw to permit accessory dwelling units. The 2016 effort also helped several organizations get grants to provide programs to address needs identified in the assessment.
Please take a moment to complete the Survey on Healthy Aging in Needham. You can take the survey online using the following link. Or, if you prefer paper, there will be copies and collection boxes at most Town buildings beginning July 5, 2022.
