Greene's Playground Resurfacing Project

Greenes Surfacing Project

Overview

Greene’s Field Playground will undergo a renovation beginning next Tuesday, October 11th that will improve safety and make the playground accessible to children of all abilities.

The renovation includes:

  • Installation of a new ADA-compliant swing and replacement of worn ropes on the saucer swing
  • Excavation of all engineered wood fibers (EWF) and sub base materials
  • Removal of boardwalk planks
  • Installation of Poured In Place (PIP) Surfacing – a 2 layer rubber playground surfacing system

Once installed, the PIP must cure and the playground will remain closed until the surfacing is ready for foot traffic. The playground is expected to be closed 3-6 weeks. We will update the community on the project on this website.

Park and Recreation will install new signage to commemorate the original donators who are currently identified on the wooden planks.
