Summer Employment
The Park and Recreation Department hires summer staff to conduct programs offered by the department. Summer staff is interviewed and hired on an as needed basis. We have started accepting applications for our 2019 Summer Programs and Pool positions. More detailed job descriptions will be posted over the Winter.

Positions we have had in the past: Program Counselors, Pool Maintenance, Pool Booth Attendants, Pool Slide Monitors, Pool Lifeguards and Pool Swim Instructors. Supervisory positions are also available for both the Pools and Summer Programs.

Hourly rates are set by the Town of Needham Personnel Board, and all staff members working with children and senior citizens must undergo a criminal record check as part of the application process.

Early Release Day Activity Chaperone
March 28, May 23, June 11
11:30am - 5:00pm for our Middle School Events
12:30pm - 5:45pm for our Elementary School Events
Will chaperone children from a Needham location and travel by bus to a unique and fun activity! Chaperones are required to take the bus with participants both to and from the activity locations. Chaperones are more than welcome to take part in the activity with the participants when applicable. Past Early Release Day Events include: Boda Borg, Tree Top Adventures, and Launch Trampoline Park. All applicants must be 16 or older to apply.
*Parent chaperones are welcome!*

Various Youth Program Instructors
We are always looking to expand our team of High School and College age program instructors for on-going and new activities offered through our department!
If you are interested in working with children ages 3 - 14, please fill out an application. There is no mandatory number of hours or events that you would be required to work. Activities could include: Friday night Kids Night Out events, School Year Kidzart, or Old Sckool Games. All applicants must be 16 or older.
