SUMMER POSITIONS and APPLICATIONS: Staff Interviews will begin to be scheduled in January, and cannot be guaranteed for every new applicant, with our full staff hired by mid-April each year.

Candidates for Summer recreation programs and Rosemary Pool must enjoy working with children and be at least 16 years of age when the programs begin in June. Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructors (WSI) must have current American Red Cross Certification at the start of the pool season in June 2013. Those who are currently enrolled or who will be enrolled in a Lifeguard or WSI course during the Winter and Spring may interview prior to completion of the course.

The hourly rate of pay varies for each position and are set by the Town of Needham Personnel Board. All staff members working with children and senior citizens must undergo a criminal record check as part of the application process.


Applicants should not wait until Spring to apply for a job, as positions fill quickly!

PLEASE NOTE: As of March 18, 2013, though we are still accepting applications for future summer program employment, there is no longer any guarantee of an interview for summer 2013. (Typically applications for summer programs begin to come into our office around September, interviews begin in January and our full summer staff is hired by mid-April.) Your application will be kept on file for summer 2014 if you are not given the opportunity to interview for this summer. Thank you!!



FALL, WINTER & SPRING POSITIONS and APPLICATION:
The Park and Recreation Department hires seasonal staff throughout the year to conduct programs offered by the department. Fall/ Winter/ Spring staff is interviewed and hired on an as needed basis.
Hourly rates are set by the Town of Needham Personnel Board, and all staff members working with children and senior citizens must undergo a criminal record check as part of the application process.
