The Town of Needham is accepting sealed bids for the construction of a new Photo Voltaic (PV) Array, to be constructed on the rooftop of the new Sunita L. Williams Elementary School. Access to the site is through an active construction site requiring coordination and working in harmony with Bacon Construction Co. The site is located at 585 Central Ave, Needham, MA. The scope of work is as depicted in the drawings and specifications that comprise the bid documents for the project prepared by Dore & Whittier Architects, Inc. The Solar Array will have a generating capacity of around 167kW and include around 420 panels, ballasted racks, inverters and all interconnection components. Copies of the Invitation for Bid (IFB) package will be available beginning June 13, 2018 at the bidding web site: Digital copies of the Bid Documents can be downloaded for free after registering on the Projectdog web site, using project# 825500. All contractors wishing to bid and receive all addenda notices shall register as an e-plan holder (for free) at Hardcopies can be ordered at Project Dog – 18 Graf Rd, Suite 8, Newburyport, MA 01950 - telephone (978) 499-9014. There is a plan deposit for hard copies of $100.00 per set payable to the Project Dog. Deposits may be electronically paid or must be a certified or cashier's check. This deposit will be refunded for up to one set upon return of the set in good condition within thirty days of receipt of bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority. Additional sets may be purchased for $50.00 non-refundable. Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate non-refundable check for $50.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to Project Dog Inc., to cover mail handling costs.

A briefing session will be held on the site on June 21, 2018 at 3:00 PM (optional but recommended). Sign in at the construction site office 609 Central Ave, Needham, MA. Visitors must wear construction boots and personal protection devises to attend the site walk portion of the briefing. The estimated construction cost is $667,000. A copy of the Documents can be seen at the Office of the Public Facilities Department- Construction on the ground floor of the Public Services Administration Building (PSAB), 500 Dedham Ave, Needham, Massachusetts 02492. Appointments must be made by calling Kathryn Copley (781) 455-7550 x314 between the hours of 8:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

Sealed bids
must be submitted no later than 2:00PM on June 28, 2018 delivered to the DPW Administrative Office (for a time and date stamp), Town of Needham, Public Services Admin. Building, 500 Dedham Ave, Needham, MA 02492. LATE BIDS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. All bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount that is not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. Bids will be publicly opened after submission deadline in the Webster Room on the second floor. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids as determined to be in the best interests of the Town and to waive minor informalities.
