In accordance with the requirements of M.G.L. c. 149, § 44D1/2 and 810 CMR 9.00, the Town of Needham - Permanent Public Building Committee requests pre-qualification submission from General Contractors and Trade Contractors for the Town of Needham New Elementary School at 585 Central Avenue. The new school will be 90,700SF. Construction is scheduled to start in November 2017 and complete prior to August 2019. Trade Contractor categories for which pre-qualification is required are Masonry, Stone, Miscellaneous and Ornamental Iron, Waterproofing, Damproofing & Caulking, Roofing & Flashing, Metal Windows, Glass and Glazing, Tile, Acoustical Tile, Resilient Flooring, Painting, Elevator, Fire Protection, Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical. Responses received from eligible General and Trade Contractors will be used to pre-qualify firms to participate in response to a Request for Bids that will be issued on August 2, 2017. The estimated total construction cost is $45,000,000.

Criteria will be available starting May 17, 2017 thru submission deadline. Contractors may obtain RFQ Documents at the office of the Daedalus Projects, Inc. (DPI), by sending a fax to DPI at 617-451-2679, or email to requesting the RFQ to be sent electronically or by first class mail.

Optional informational meeting will be held May 24, 2017 at 9:00 AM at the Public Services Administration Building (PSAB), Charles River Room, 500 Dedham Avenue, Needham, MA 02492

All fax or e-mail requests must contain the following company information: company name, address, telephone number, fax number, contact name, bid category and e-mail address.

Pre-qualification submissions are due by 2:00 PM on June 14, 2017 and must be submitted to:

SOQs received by the Prequalification Administrator, Daedalus Projects Inc, (DPI)) later than the Submission Deadline specified above will be rejected and returned to the respondent Contractor. Telecopied, faxed, or e-mailed qualifications will not be accepted.

Responses to the RFQ will be made by July 11, 2017. The Town of Needham reserves the right to reject any or all qualifications and to accept any proposal that it considers to be in the best interests of the Town. The architect for the project is Dore & Whittier Architects, Inc.
