The Town of Needham invites qualifications from Architectural / Engineering Designers to prepare a site assessment, functional analysis and conceptual layout study, including cost estimates, for the DPW Seasonal Storage-Phase 1 in Needham, MA. Design team qualifications shall include Architect, Planner, Hazardous Materials consultant and Estimator (in-house), as well as the following engineering disciplines: Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection and Wetland Specialist.
Qualifications (1 original, 12 copies and 1 electronic copy on a CD) must be returned to the Office of the PPBC c/o Kathryn Copley, 500 Dedham Avenue, Needham, Massachusetts 02492 by 2:00PM Thursday, April 6, 2017. Qualifications must be placed in a sealed envelope marked:

Qualifications for - “Insert the Name of Applicant”
Fax transmissions will not be accepted. A Pre-proposal meeting will occur at the Needham Recycling Transfer Station (RTS), 1421 Central Avenue Needham, MA 02492, on Monday, March 20th at 2:00 PM.
Selected interviews of a short list of candidates, if required, will be conducted by the Town of Needham Permanent Public Building Committee (PPBC) and are tentatively scheduled to take place on Monday, April 24, 2017. The Designer Fee (provided in a separate sealed envelope) for the identified services including all reimbursable expenses will be negotiated with a limit of $140,000.00.
The Selected Designer will not be precluded from providing continuing services on the project under a negotiated fee. The Town of Needham reserves the right to reject any or all qualifications and/or to accept any proposal that it considers to be in the best interests of the Town. The designer selected for Phase 1 will be eligible to continue onto Phase 2 and Phase 3, as part of a negotiated fee. The Town of Needham reserves the right to procure this service through the RFQ Procurement process for Public Building Design and / or engage an independent professional to review the recommendations and budget. At each stage of the work, the Designer will be responsible for providing services that are consistent with the DCAM Designers Procedures Manual, August 2008, (or most current version) for architectural and engineering services of public projects.
