NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
Term:
October 31, 2020 – July, 23 2022
TO THE MEMBERS OF THE NEEDHAM RETIREMENT SYSTEM
Due to the Retirement of Thomas Welch from The Needham Contributory Retirement Board, a Special Election is to be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 8:00am to 5:00pm for the purpose of electing a Member of the System to serve on the Needham Retirement Board for the remainder of his term, beginning on October 31, 2020 to July 23, 2022.
All Retirees and members of the Needham Retirement System are eligible as candidates, provided they file with the Needham Retirement Board a nomination paper containing the signatures of at least twenty (20) Members/Retirees of the System. Due to Covid-19 we are granting a 20 day grace period to submit nomination papers. The nomination paper must be filed with the Retirement Office no later than 5:00 PM on Monday, August 31, 2020.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS
If the Retirement Board determines that more than one (1) candidate has been nominated, the Board shall prepare an Official Election Ballot. Due to Covid-19 the Needham Town Hall is closed to walk in traffic. Therefore all Retirees and Members of the Needham Retirement System will be sent an Absentee Ballot by mail. These ballots shall be counted only if received by the Retirement Board no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2020(the date of the election).
