NEEDHAM’S OUTDOOR ANNUAL TOWN MEETING

PRESENTATION:  MODERATOR’S INTRODUCTION AND LOGISTIC INFORMATION FOR TOWN MEETING

Dear Town Meeting Member,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey we sent out last weekend seeking your input on the format of our upcoming Annual Town Meeting. In addition to indicating your preferences, many of you took the time to offer thoughtful feedback and suggestions, and for that we are very grateful.

The Select Board voted yesterday to hold June 8, 2020 Annual Town Meeting at the Memorial Park parking lot beginning at 5pm. Special Town Meeting will be held at 5:30 pm that evening. The location and earlier time will allow Town Meeting to conduct its business in the safest and most efficient way possible during the current global pandemic. Rain dates have been set for June 10th and June 11th.

There is no doubt this will be a unique Town Meeting for all of us and will require significant cooperation, flexibility and patience. We also know that there are some members who will be unable to participate and for that we are sorry. We know you are committed to your important role, but health must come first.

In the coming days, you will receive additional information including the warrant, logistical information and plans for keeping you safe. We will also announce an email address that you may use to submit your questions. We will do our best to get as many of these answered and shared prior to the meeting.
